Jr Camp Leader
Nature & Community Exploration Club – South Surrey / White Rock
Ages 10-13 (Junior Nature Leader) | Ages 14+ (Nature Leader-in-Training)
Our Jr. Camp Leader Program offers youth a hands-on pathway into Leadership & Employment Readiness.
The program is a nature-based training experience designed for kids who love the outdoors, enjoy working with younger children, and want to build real-world skills alongside our camp staff.
Rather than simply attending camp, Junior Leaders are actively training: learning to lead, communicate, problem-solve, and support others, all while deepening their own connection to nature and community.
Why Families Choose Our Jr. Camp Leader Program:

Benefits of the Jr. Camp Leader Program
Junior Leaders leave our program with more than a certificate. They build genuine leadership experience, lasting confidence, and the skills to support others—setting them up for success in future employment and in life.
What to Expect From the Jr. Camp Leader Program
Every training day gives Junior Leaders real responsibility, real mentorship, and real experience. They work alongside our camp staff to help lead games and activities, support group transitions, assist with set-up and clean-up, and encourage younger campers—all while building the communication and leadership skills employers look for.
A Typical Training Day
After-School Club 2:30pm - 5:30pm | Day-Camps 9am - 3pm
Junior Leaders arrive prepared and ready to contribute. They're paired with staff and assigned groups, where they practice the 3 C's of leadership—Clear, Calm, and Consistent communication—while supporting younger campers through games, nature exploration, and outdoor activities. Training also covers safety awareness, behaviour guidance, basic animal care, and Leave No Trace principles. Junior Leaders are supervised at all times and are never responsible for independent supervision, discipline, or medical care.
